Why We're Doing This

Neighbors Helping
Neighbors

We've built our business right here in this community. We've worked on your neighbors' homes, your churches and your schools. And we know that sometimes good people hit hard times.

Maybe it's a widow on a fixed income. A family recovering from a medical crisis. A veteran who gave everything and is now struggling to keep a roof over his head. Or just someone who could really use a break right now.

This is our way of giving back. Four families a year. One every quarter. A brand new roof, completely free, installed by the same crews we send to every job, with the same materials and the same warranty. No strings.

How It Works

Helping Our Neighbors One Roof At A Time

01

Apply

Fill out the short form on this page. Tell us about your roof and, in your own words, why this would matter for your household.

02

We Review

Our team reads every application and selects one recipient each quarter based on need. We are a small company — a real person reads yours.

03

We Install

The selected family receives a complete roof replacement at no cost. Same materials, same warranty, same crew as any job we bill for.

The Crew Behind It

This Isn't A
Marketing Stunt

It's who we are. We believe a business should be part of the community, not just in it. Shoemaker Snoddy Roofing & Construction is locally owned and operated, built on honesty, hard work and a passion for helping our neighbors.

These are the people who show up. The same crews, the same project managers and the same workmanship guarantee go on the free roof as on every job we bill for.

The Same Standard, Paid Or Free

What our neighbors say about the crews who'd be installing your roof.

"My insurance company denied my hail claim and these guys went to bat for me. … Went from being totally out of luck to totally covered because these guys went the extra mile. I didn’t have to do anything but answer a few phone calls. The roof looks great. Will definitely use again."

Claim Assistance

"My storage building roof was badly damaged during one of our severe hail and wind storms. Zach and his crew came out after already working a full day and replaced the roof that same evening. … Not only did they give me a new roof, but they also gave me a new respect for a company’s kindness, dedication, and commitment to customer service."

Storm Restoration

"After massive storms rolled through her city, she had hail damage on her roof, gutters, and garage door. … They replaced her roof, gutters, and garage door plus repaired all the damage inside her home. It looks like a brand new house! My mom couldn’t be happier!"

Questions

About The Free Roof Project

What does "free" actually cover?

+

A complete roof replacement at no cost to you — materials, labor, tear-off and cleanup. It is the same crew, the same quality of materials and the same workmanship guarantee we put on a paid job. There is no catch and nothing to pay back.

How many roofs do you give away, and how often?

+

Four a year — one every quarter. Applications stay in consideration, so if you are not selected in one quarter you do not have to start over.

How do you choose who gets one?

+

Need. Our team reviews every application and selects one recipient per quarter. We are looking for the households where a failing roof is genuinely out of reach — people on fixed incomes, families recovering from a medical or financial crisis, neighbors who could just use a break.

Do I need to own the home?

+

Generally yes, since replacing a roof is a permanent improvement to the property and needs the owner’s authorization. If your situation is more complicated than that, apply anyway and tell us about it — we would rather read the details than have you rule yourself out.

What if I have insurance or my roof is storm damaged?

+

Then a claim is probably the better route, and we can help with that at no cost through our claim assistance service. The Free Roof Project exists for people who do not have a path to a new roof — not as a substitute for a covered claim.

Not the right fit? A free roof inspection costs nothing either, and if there's storm damage our claim assistance may cover the replacement.
